Cherisse
'Bunny' by Cherisse, 2001, 4 years old

One of the first pieces made in an Erik Wood
workshop by a preschooler, it was featured
in an exhibit at The National Arts Club in 2001.

In 2001, using a modified version of the process he had developed in his own mixed media work,
Erik began conducting workshops witih children.

Since then, more than 6,000 children and adults, ages 3 to 103, including many with
physical and/or developmental challenges, have created mixed media art in Erik Wood workshops
throughout New York City in community-based preschools, more than 60 branches of the
New York Public Library ("NYPL"), New York City public schools, adult day health care centers,
corporate conferences, and at non-profit agencies like the extraordinary United Cerebral Palsy
of New York City ("UCP/NYC").
